Why do you need my National Insurance Number?

Fair question. We request your National Insurance (NI) number primarily for convenience.

Providing your NI number allows us to retrieve your driving licence information directly via the government’s API, without you needing to manually obtain and share a DVLA check code. It’s a smoother and faster process for most users.

That said, if you’re not comfortable sharing your NI number, that’s completely fine—we have alternative methods available.

To proceed without it, you’ll still need to complete an application. In the NI number field, just enter a random string (e.g. 123456), and our insurance team will follow up with you for some additional details and information to work around it.
