Can you insure vehicles without a registration number?

Yes—in some cases, we can.

If the vehicle is an import intended for road use, it must be registered eventually. However, we can insure it using the VIN while you wait for the registration paperwork (V5C) to be processed.

If the vehicle is not road legal, it doesn’t need to be registered. In that case, we can also insure it using the VIN, but cover is limited to accidental damage, fire, and theft—no road use cover applies.

To complete the application, simply enter the VIN in the registration number field.
