# How to share your car

Sharing your car on Custodian lets other people explore its profile and the information you choose to share. You can use **Link & QR sharing** for easy, open access, **secure sharing** for access you give to specific people, or **export a PDF brochure of your car** to send or print.

## Share a car or your garage

**Link & QR sharing and secure sharing both work for a single car or an entire garage.** Open **Share your car** from an individual car, or **Share your garage** from your garage. Each offers **Link & QR sharing** and secure sharing.

The link and secure sharing guides below use a car as the example. For a garage, start from **Share your garage** and choose the same sharing method.

## Share with a link or QR code

Choose **Link & QR sharing** when you want a simple way to show your car to friends, share it online or display a QR sticker at an event.

* People open your car using a link or by scanning its QR code.
* **No Custodian account is required** to view it.
* Anyone with the link or QR code can open the shared view.
* You can preview the shared view, copy the link, download the QR code or customise a QR sticker.

## Share your car securely

Choose **Share your car securely** when you want to control **who has access** and **which details are included**. For example, you might share with a potential buyer, a specialist or someone helping you care for your car.

* Find and invite a person using their email address.
* People without a Custodian account can join and accept an invitation.
* Choose **Full** or **Custom** permissions, including available options for photos, history file attachments and costs.
* Review the share summary and manage your shares from **Active shares**.

## Share an exported PDF brochure

You can also **export a PDF brochure of your car** and send the file to someone, or print a copy. This is useful when you want a document to email, share via WhatsApp or keep with the car’s history file.

Open your car from **Garage**, select the **three-dot menu (…)** at the top right of its profile, then choose **Export PDF**. You will receive an email with a link to download the brochure.

The PDF is a snapshot of the information at the time of export. Check its contents before sharing, and export a new copy if you want to include later updates.

## Which option should I use?

**Use a link or QR code** if convenience matters most and you are happy for anyone who receives it to open the shared view.

**Use secure sharing** if you want to invite particular people and decide which information to include.

**Use a PDF brochure** if you want a downloadable document to send or print.

Link sharing and secure sharing are available in **Share your car** and **Share your garage**. They can be active at the same time. If you want access to be limited to invited people, switch off **Link & QR sharing** as well.
