# How to Redeem a Promo Code

Use a **Promo Code** on Custodian when upgrading your subscription or choosing a paid membership tier.

## Step-by-Step: Applying a Promo Code

### Method 1: From Membership Settings
1. Log into your **Custodian** account.
2. Go to **Settings** > **Membership** (or navigate directly to [app.custodian.club/account/membership](https://app.custodian.club/account/membership)).
3. Click the **Got promotion code?** link in the top-right area above the plans.
4. Type or paste your code into the box.
5. Click **Apply**.

### Method 2: During Checkout (Order Summary)
1. Navigate to [app.custodian.club/account/membership](https://app.custodian.club/account/membership).
2. Select your desired plan (Base or Premium) and billing cycle (Monthly or Yearly).
3. In the **Order summary** side drawer that opens on the right, click **Got promotion code?**.
4. Enter your code and click **Apply** before completing your payment.

## Important Rules & Troubleshooting

* **Case Sensitive:** Promo Codes are strictly case sensitive. Make sure upper and lowercase letters match exactly.
* **Checkout Only:** Promo Codes can only be applied when selecting or paying for a membership. They will not work in the Rewards section.
* **No Retroactive Use:** Codes must be applied *before* confirming payment.
